2024-

2025

Overview

As Editor-in-Chief of The Luminary, I led the 40-page design and production of the Exposure issue, shaping theme development, curating student work, and guiding layout and visual direction. The issue contributed to our second All-Florida recognition and continued building the magazine’s reputation across campus.

Reporting and Writing

I wrote the theme introduction and editorial copy for Exposure, framing the concept of diverse perspectives and unique truths into a unified narrative.

Editing, Leadership
and Team Building

I guided staff through submission selection and revision processes, providing feedback on layouts while maintaining our deadline and editorial standards.

design

I directed the full 40-page layout, developing visual cohesion through typography, spacing, and intentional pacing to reflect the theme of visibility and perspective.

photojournalism

I implemented some of my own personal photography into the magazine while also curating all content to effectively complete spreads.

web and social media

I marketed Exposure across social platforms, designing promotional posts that increased visibility and boosted submissions for future volumes.

Law, Ethics and News
Literacy

I reviewed all submissions for originality and appropriateness, ensuring proper attribution and maintaining ethical publication standards.

Marketing and
Audience Engagement

I helped execute fundraising at the Pine View Fair and made promotional flyers that widened popularity, contributed to $7,000 in total fundraising efforts, and increased student submissions.

Commitment to
Diversity

Through Exposure, we intentionally selected work representing unique identities, perspectives, and creative voices across campus. Hence, first time "Exposure" to these genres.

personal growth

Leading the Exposure issue taught me how much creativity and thinking outside the box is important in journalism. To effectively design a literary magazine, you must be able to create engaging layout with minimal content and the Exposure issue has helped me heighten this skills.
