Overview
As Editor-in-Chief of The View Yearbook, I am leading the design and production of a 252-page book while managing coverage, photography, sales, and social media. I mentor and direct 30 staffers, oversee biweekly coverage cycles and page deadlines, and navigate the logistical and creative challenges that come with the role.
Reporting and Writing
Spearheaded coverage of school events and wrote theme copy across 252 pages. Collaborated on story assignments and revisited work for clarity, ensuring consistent, high-quality storytelling.
Editing, Leadership
and Team Building
Directed 26 staffers with hands-on editing, mentoring, early-year presentations, adult professional lecturers, canvas assignments, and created resource documents. planned bonding activities on- and off-campus.
design
Produced cohesive print layouts and expanded the senior section (244 → 252 pages). Extended design to web, social media, and broadcast, balancing originality with polished visuals.
broadcast journalism
Integrated QR codes and videos into spreads to create interactive storytelling for readers.

Captured events like drama performances, emphasizing unique moments. Prepared captions providing essential facts plus additional context to enhance storytelling.

This year has stretched me more than any other. Adding pages meant adding pressure, more coverage to plan, more deadlines to track, more details that couldn’t slip. I’ve learned how to stay steady when problems pile up and how to support a staff that looks to me for direction.
